Can’t sleep so I thought I would share a picture of someone dear to my heart…

Michelangelo > Chuck Norris

Everything’s going great.  Looking forward to being back in Central Arkansas this weekend.

Edit (7:10):  After not being able to sleep, I ended up taking a nice little drive that put me in Pea Ridge.  Too bad the damn park doesn’t open until 8.  Oh well, it’s a beautiful area, though.

I also have to go buy another phone today because my other one got wet.  Don’t ask.  Saved by the Bell’s back on, good day.

No more political posts.

Will this week ever be over?  It’s not like I’ve done much but driving down to Conway on Monday, then driving back that night wasn’t the best start to a week.  At least I got to see my sister.

In our philosophy class we have to write a paper on Candide and if we believe this is the “best of all possible worlds.”  What do y’all think?

Off to start my paper, good day.

Some things have changed since my last post while others have not.  We finally moved into the new apartment.  And might I say, it’s great to have a room big enough to fit all of my furniture again.  Other than that, I’m staying busy with school, work, slip-n-slides, and the pool.  So far though, it’s been a one of my more laidback summers.  The only trip I’ve taken is to Kansas City for the Warped Tour.  And that was just for a day.

Besides that, it’s hard to believe this is my last summer of college.  I’ve really enjoyed college but I’m eager to get my degree and move on.  Eventually I’d like to go back and get a master’s or law degree, but right now I know where I’m supposed to go.

I’m not one to post Bible quotes on my Xanga, but this one hit home.  Plus it’s one of the officer’s creeds so I’ll end with it.

Psalm 144:  A Psalm of David

Bless the LORD, who is my rock.
    He gives me strength for war
    and skill for battle.
He is my loving ally and my fortress,
    my tower of safety, my deliverer.
He stands before me as a shield, and I take refuge in him.
    He subdues the nations under me.

O LORD, what are mortals that you should notice us,
    mere humans that you should care for us?
For we are like a breath of air;
    our days are like a passing shadow.

Bend down the heavens, LORD, and come down.
    Touch the mountains so they billow smoke.

Release your lightning bolts and scatter your enemies!
    Release your arrows and confuse them!
Reach down from heaven and rescue me;
    deliver me from deep waters,
    from the power of my enemies.
Their mouths are full of lies;
    they swear to tell the truth, but they lie.

I will sing a new song to you, O God!
    I will sing your praises with a ten-stringed harp.
For you grant victory to kings!
    You are the one who rescued your servant David.
Save me from the fatal sword!
    Rescue me from the power of my enemies.
Their mouths are full of lies;
    they swear to tell the truth, but they lie.

May our sons flourish in their youth
    like well-nurtured plants.
May our daughters be like graceful pillars,
    carved to beautify a palace.
May our farms be filled
    with crops of every kind.
May the flocks in our fields multiply by the thousands,
    even tens of thousands,
    and may our oxen be loaded down with produce.
May there be no breached walls, no forced exile,
    no cries of distress in our squares.
Yes, happy are those who have it like this!
    Happy indeed are those who God is the LORD.

Tired of Waiting

I just want to go sign the papers now and do it.  I’ve made a promise to a friend, and if that day comes, I will keep it.

Can’t believe it’s almost June.  This summer’s been somewhat eventful thus far.  Derek and Abby (my brother and sister-in-law) had a baby girl Friday so I’m officially an uncle.  I’m proud of all three of them.

In other good news, I found out that since I’m a political science/geography major I can take Mathematical Reasoning instead of Finite.  I highly recommend any liberal arts major to do the same since Math Reasoning is becoming one of my favorite classes, mainly in part to the class dealing with more logic than math.

Other than that, not a whole lot is new besides the quarter-size whole in the chest.  Only 1 month more until we move into the new place.

Here are some pictures of Erica Lynn Schuckman.
